I don’t know if it is turning 40 or a post-pandemic awakening, or the fog lifting from the intense early parenting years but old patterns and ways of thinking that seemed to be working for me suddenly stopped working. More than anything what came up in therapy for me was that my perfectionism was running my life.

Fewer Things: Holiday Gifts for Kids

I think we can all agree that Christmas is going to feel a bit different this year. Whether it is smaller family gatherings, no parties and challenges shopping. But instead of dwelling on what we can’t have, I want to focus on the positives. I think this year is a great opportunity to make a shift away from tons of gifts and a move toward less consumption and more thoughtful local and sustainably focused gifts.
