Get outside

We had the idea that when we had a kid that we would still be able to do most of the things we used to do in the city we love.  In some ways we were right and some ways we were wrong.  We don’t get to the movie theatre as much as we used to and drinks after work with friends have been replaced with dinner at home and multiple readings of I Want My Hat Back.  But many things we have been able to keep up like the East Side Culture Crawl, an annual event where you get direct access to artist’s studios.  Seeing the art and the crowds through Theo’s eyes made this year the best Culture Crawl ever.  His favourite piece of the show was a pink balloon that Grandpa stole for him.

So, no we don’t do everything the same as we did as a young kid-free couple in the city.  But we are still enjoying so much of what our city has to offer and seeing it like new through the fresh eyes of our little one.
