Shop Local

We have been trying to buy less and buy more thoughtfully with a focus on supporting local, small businesses.  Luckily, two of my favourite shops are steps away, Much and Little is across the street and Poppytalk a block away.  These inspiring shops are owned by amazingly creative taste makers, not to mention kind people. Sarah, at Much and Little is always willing to help with thoughtful suggestions for gifts, even when I’m rushing at the last minute. While, Jan and Earl at Poppytalk are constantly offering creative workshops out of their shop that build community.  Both offer perfectly curated housewares and gifts, many from local artists and makers.  I find myself saving for a special planter or candle from one of their shops and skipping the trip to Ikea or a crowded box store.

There is also something really lovely about a local shop that remembers your baby and has watched him grow.
